The consortium assembled for the Mediappro project gathered national institutions specialized in the media, and new media, education field. These institutions operate as part of either universities or education ministries in their respective country. This consortium features a broad geographical coverage as it includes organisations with high national status and wide international recognition.
The Mediappro consortium grew out of the consortium involved in the Educaunet and Educaunet 2 projects. These partners have expertise and acknowledgement in the framework of the IAP.
The GReMS, research group in learning's mediation in the Communication's department of the Catholic University of Louvain (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium), is a team of teachers, assistants and research workers who are studying learning's communication. This group develop an expertise in educational communication and an expertise in observation, analyse and validation's method.
At present, the link between media and learning stand out at the attention of the research workers in communication because, in one way, of the awareness of the media's dominant role in the learning's education, and in another way, of the appearance on the new technology's market called " of intelligence " (multimedia, Internet ...).
Through its research, expertise and interventions, the GReMS wishes bring the communicational point of view to the question of learning's social sharing. In this way, some studies were already made in varied domains like health education, media education, ecology's awareness, using of hypermedia in way of learning, social appropriation of multimedia, etc.
Média Animation ASBL is the media and multimedia education resource centre for the private schools network in the French-speaking part of Belgium. It is authorized and subsidized by the Ministère de la Communauté Française in charge of the French-speaking educational system. It is also a global centre for vocational training. Média Animation was founded in 1979. It was granted vital funding to implement research, information, training and educational publication.
Média Animation has developed vocational training for teachers and cultural workers for many years. Our team of teachers and media and training professionals organize more than 300 training days every year.
CLEMI is a centre of the French Ministry of Education, associated to the SCEREN (Service Culture Edition Ressources de l'Education nationale, ex-CNDP). The mission of the Clemi is "to promote, especially by means of training activities, multiple use of news media in teaching with the aim of encouraging better understanding by pupils of the world while simultaneously developing critical understanding." (Part of the ministerial decree creating Clemi, 1983). . The Clemi is coordinates the European projects Media-Educ and Educaunet and participes in other European programmes. It coordinates studies in the field of media education, organises seminars, symposia and meetings ; it plans and puts into action training activities both in France and abroad.
The Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media is based in the School of Culture, Language and Communication at the London University Institute of Education.
The Centre's expertise in the field of children and the media is well established, as evidenced by a range of relevant research activities, and by recent publications by Professor Buckingham, such as The Making of Citizens (Buckingham, 2000), and After the Death of Childhood: Growing up in the Age of Electronic Media (Buckingham, 2000). Many of the research projects currently under way are researching the use of digital technologies, in particular the internet, by young people in a wide variety of social contexts.
The University of Algarve - School of Education belongs to the Portuguese public education system. We are a School dealing in teacher training, both at initial and in-service levels. Furthermore, we participate in projects with some secondary schools.
In the field of Internet literacy we ran a post-graduation in the field of "Computers in Education for teachers". In all our teacher training courses we have subjects related to computers in education. Other courses have subjects related to the Internet as well, but aiming at different goals, such as translation, communication studies or social and community studies.
The School of Education participated in a course run by the Ministry of Education, to define the National Basic Curriculum in ICT for teachers. Besides, we have teachers that belong to the national NONIO programme managed by a department of the Ministry of Education.
The ambition of the Centre for Higher Education - Copenhagen and North Zealand is to develop and offer the very best further education and training offers for the teachers and pedagogues in the Metropolitan areas. The Centre for Higher Education - Copenhagen and North Zealand's unit for further education and training holds a professional environment consisting of experienced pedagogical consultants and lecturers from the Danish University of Education's further educational and training unit. Together with the experienced teachers laid out from the Danish University of Education, we furthermore intend to develop the teachers and pedagogues basic education, further education and training.
ASPETE is a public institution of the higher school. It depends of the Ministery of Education. It takes place in Athens, and is also located in Thessaloniki, Patras, Heraklion, Volos and Ionnina.
ASPETE trains students in technical school teaching. The teaching is a pedagogical and didactical training of one year. It contains all the disciplines of an education science's department. Our students have an IUT (University Institute of Technology) licence or a university cursus.
ASPETE trains each year between 800 and 1000 students. The teaching staff is about 225 persons. It is lead by a scientific committee of professors from IUT and Universities.
ASPETE works with other European programs.
CEPaD is a Research Centre of Catholic University of Milan working about Long life and Distance Education. Founded in 1999 it has about 35 researchers (tutoring experts, project managers, evaluators, telecommunication experts, informatics) and is a member of the main international associations in distance learning (EUCEN, EDEN).
The Foundation for Economic Education was established in 1991 as an initiative of Prof. Leszek Balcerowicz, the main architect of the successful Polish economic transformation, which followed the breakdown of communism in Europe. Our work concentrates on co-operation with educational institutions and development of (especially local) media as well as on the development of a modern public sector and non-governmental organisations, support to central and regional administration and strengthening of local self-governments. An important area of work since 1999 is the development of IT skills in the Polish school education. We are the operators of the Polish "Interkl@sa" schoolnet programme
Robert Schuman Centre for French Studies is an interdisciplinary unit inside the Faculty of Philosophy, Tartu University. Its sub-units are the French Philology Department, the French section of the Languages Center, and the French Scientific Institute, itself an interdisciplinary entity.
